Meet Dr. David Howe, one of our team members for Western kNOw-PAIN. He is a Professor in the School of Kinesiology and cross-appointed as a Professor in the Department of Anthropology here at Western. Dr. Howe is an ethnographic researcher focused on unpacking the embodied socio-cultural milieu surrounding inclusive physical activity and disability sport including the lifeworld consequences of pain and injury. His pain research focuses on the intersectionality between medicine. His publications on the co-constitution of disability and medicine in sport and physical activity mark him out as a leader in the socio-cultural investigation of the field.
